This weekend I have played a little with my (alternative) DC logotype to see if I could make it more unique. I have done some small changes with its head and made a new solution with the body/ cross.

I agree with Shaun in the balance issue. Overall it looks fine, but there’s something that is annoying. I though a little bit on it, and I conclude that this is a little complex shape. There are so many subtractions on it, and I thing your logo starts to look a little techy. I rather prefer version 3, with some changes in the head as you did on version 4. Just an hybrid. Version 3 shape + Version 4 head + improvements = Perfect. I think with the improvements you did on version 3 it becames less “Design Made in Germany”…
Super Nice. Pushing the limits.
I have been following your work for awhile, you do have a more detailed conscious style than most, so your more detailed logo will work as a brand, to represent your style and strategy. However JB is right, your cut cross is very simple and with regard to simplification and minimalism, would provide all the brand identity needed.
I also believe if you choose one and put all your trust into it, it will work.
Great feedback! Thanks JB grasset, I didn’t think about the cross in that way :) I have updated the logo now with a more solid original cross (version 4) which make it better I think. Without anything at all in the lower part makes the balance little strange. I also think it make it more unique and less “Design Made In Germany”.
In my humble opinion, the “cut cross” would be enough…without nothing around. It’s the thing that makes your identity unique as it has never been done before and still, it’s very simple… Like real innovation or big ideas..
I have admired your work, and it was excellent to the change in the logotype
For me it doesn’t quite balance right. I can’t put my finger on what isn’t working, maybe a little too much going on with it.
very good, I like!!
Wow. Nice improvement, it has more personality.
Nice. Like it very much. More than the previous ones.
